Thorgrim Looseeker MacThoy
? - 1175 A.D.

Serving as Bo' sun's mate on a cargo ship returning home from the Crusades, Looseeker did his part in the caskette confidence operation.  (See Crusades.)

Due to the failure of this scheme the Clan found themselves enduring the  longest known  sobriety in their history, the Boston Tea Party coming in a close second.

Fortunately one of the few things the Clan prides itself on is persevering through difficulty.

In  a detox induced fever,   Looseeker, grabbed a belaying pin and descended below decks to "Tap the Admiral,"  knowing the kegs contained not only wine but warlords homeward bound for internment.

This act ended the drought and also gave rise to the MacThoy variation of "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" which was "just pretend it's an ice cube."  Like lemmings over a cliff, the rest of the crew followed his lead.

(How they managed to evade  prosecution is not known.  "Tapping the Admiral" is to put a quill in a wine or brandy barrel and have a drink at the King's expense."--the ed.)
